Breakfast    Today we are leaving Maribo to head up to a vacation spot north of Copenhagen. We had a relaxed breakfast at Ida and Lars’s, it’s amazing the girls are really growing up they are both getting very adult about eating.
Before leaving we stopped to look at Karen’s Morfar’s (Grandfather) memorial stone. This of course lead to and interesting conversation with Emma about what we were doing, Lizzie of course, as usual, was just interested in running around and dancing on graves. After the visit to the memorial stone we headed over to Carsten’s new office to pick up a spare cell phone that he had lying around, then over to the post office to buy a prepaid SIM card and set the phone up. We have been frustrated by the fact that we haven’t had a cell phone and pay phones are few and far between. So now we are all set with our own cell phone and I know that the next time I travel I’m going to make sure that I have a GSM capable phone. Finaly we were on our way up to Copenhagen to stop by Tivioli and meet a wide assortment of people out side the Peacock theater at 5:30.

The following are Karen’s notes about our drive up to Copenhagen
In the car:
I’m a little scared. Lizzie is in the back seat, and she’s roaring like a monster. She’s been doing it for a while now, doesn’t seem distressed at all. I think she just likes the sound. Emma’s sleeping.

Lizzie: “Unh’wan’ mormor. Unh’wan’ Hobbets.”
Aaron: “You want Pockets?”
Lizzie: “Yeah . . . .”

Aaron now claims to be able to distinguish the sound of a WEP’d internet access point on MacStumbler. A WEP’d site says, “Blink,” and an open connection says, “Bloop.” Now you know.

Emma climbLizzie SlideTivioli is the amusement park in the downtown Copenhagen, it’s the oldest in Europe and is a national institution. There are all manor of rides, gardens and playgrounds, and don’t even get me started on the ice cream! We meet Thomas, Karen’s cousin Sine, and one of Karen’s oldest friends Marianne and her family. We meandered over to the playground and let the girls run off some energy. Then back to the Peacock Theater to watch the pantomime performance of “The Princess and the Pea”. The girls, particularly Emma, were enchanted and I must say you’d be hard pressed to find a better way to spend an evening. After the play we said bye to most every one and headed off to get some ice cream. Then an hour drive up to the resort of Gilleleje.
